Twitter rebrands as X

According to industry sources, the social media platform , formerly known as Twitter, experienced a global outage on Monday, disrupting access to both its website and mobile application. Users worldwide reported being unable to view their feeds, with many only seeing the logo upon attempting to log in.

The disruption began early in the day, and the company has yet to provide an explanation or an estimated time for service restoration. Monitoring site Downdetector recorded a sharp increase in complaints, indicating that the outage affected users across multiple countries, including Nigeria, Canada, Australia, France, Indonesia, Ghana, and Germany.

Efforts to refresh the platform often failed, and those who managed to load content were met with error messages stating, “Something went wrong. Try reloading.” Even ’s official accounts, typically used to communicate during disruptions, were inaccessible.

This outage follows a pattern of technical issues for the platform. In November 2025, a widespread service disruption in partnership with Cloudflare affected users in the United States, India, and Nigeria, preventing updates and timeline access. Despite these recurring challenges, remains one of the most widely used social media platforms globally.
