At the signing ceremony on Friday evening, Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to effectively implement the budget.

For the upcoming fiscal year, ₦611.7 billion—which accounts for 82% of the total budget—has been earmarked for capital projects, while ₦138.6 billion, or 18%, is designated for recurrent expenditures, including personnel costs, social benefits, overheads, and debt servicing.

Titled ‘Budget of Sustained Momentum,’ the budget reflects careful consideration of significant economic challenges like inflation and fluctuating exchange rates that have impacted the government’s fiscal strategies.

Governor Otti praised the House of Assembly for their prompt approval of the budget and support for his administration’s policies.

“I sincerely thank the Abia State House of Assembly for their quick and comprehensive evaluation of the Appropriation Bill. This budget, with 82% allocated to capital expenditures, demonstrates our firm commitment to building lasting infrastructure,” Otti stated.

In 2025, substantial advancements are expected on projects initiated in 2023, including the Port Harcourt Road in Aba and the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abriba-Ohafia road, among other critical initiatives.

“Together, we are committed to transforming Abia State, ensuring its ongoing growth and development,” Otti concluded.
