Grief Sweeps Ilesa as Adeleke and Oyetola Mourn the Passing of Revered Monarch
Moment of deep sorrow, the people of Ilesa and Osun State are mourning the passing of the beloved monarch, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II, who recently joined his ancestors. The revered king, who served as the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland for several decades, left an indelible mark on his community and the entire state.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, have both expressed profound grief over the monarch’s demise. In a heartfelt statement, Governor Adeleke described the late king as a symbol of peace, unity, and development for Ijesaland. He highlighted Oba Aromolaran’s numerous contributions to the state’s growth and prosperity, particularly in fostering harmony among his people.
Former Governor Oyetola also paid his respects, praising the late Oba for his wisdom and leadership. He emphasized the monarch’s role in steering the region through challenging times, always prioritizing the well-being of the community.
The late Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II ascended the throne in 1981 and ruled Ilesa for over 40 years. During his reign, he was known for his advocacy for education, culture, and economic development, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
