Haruna Mohammed: ‘Wike Has Done Well For PDP

According to Ireporter Online, the factional National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haruna Mohammad, has praised Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his role in strengthening the party as a credible opposition.

Mohammad made the remarks during an interview on TVC Breakfast, commenting on the recent nullification of the PDP’s November 2025 National Convention by a Federal High Court in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He lauded the judiciary for upholding the rule of law, noting that the court’s decision came as no surprise. “I want to commend the judiciary for standing firm on the side of the rule of law. There is no way individuals who attempted to violate the party constitution and defy two final judgments of the Federal High Court could expect the court to reverse itself,” Mohammad said.

He further criticized actions taken in courts lacking jurisdiction, describing them as “merely an academic exercise.” Mohammad also commended the Board of Trustees, led by Mao, and members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their resilience and support. He singled out Wike for ensuring that the PDP remains intact and continues to serve as a viable opposition in Nigeria.
