How I Reacted When I Learned My Husband Might Have Another Family – Fashola’s Wife Speaks

According to Ireporter Online, Abimbola Fashola, wife of former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, has opened up about how she responded to rumours suggesting her husband had another family while in office.

Speaking during an appearance with her husband on the Morayo Afolabi Show, Abimbola Fashola addressed the reports that circulated during his tenure as governor. She stated that the allegations never caused tension at home due to the strong bond and open communication she shares with her husband.

She revealed that she first learned of the rumour from her sisters, who claimed that her husband had another family in Magodo and was frequently seen there. Rather than reacting impulsively, she said she remained calm and sought spiritual guidance before addressing the matter directly.

According to Abimbola, she later discussed the allegation with her husband, confident that there was nothing they could not talk about openly. She said her husband expressed surprise and clarified that his visits to Magodo were rare and mainly related to campaign activities.

She explained: “I heard a story from my sisters. They said your husband has another family in Magodo. I said, ‘Ah, my husband. Okay, not to worry,’ because the relationship we share, there’s nothing we don’t say to one another. It’s all about communication. Most times, when I hear things like that, I wait for the Holy Spirit to direct me. So I said, ‘Come, they say you have another family in Magodo, that you are always going there every day.’ He said, ‘Magodo? How many times have I been to Magodo? Maybe during campaign.’”

Abimbola Fashola also addressed public perceptions of her husband’s temperament, noting that while he is generally calm and composed, he is human and capable of anger. She stated, “You know when God gives you an assignment, he supports you with it. That idea that he never gets angry is a lie.”
