I Can’t Take It Anymore” — Harrysong’s Ex-Wife Steps Away From Child Custody
According to Ireporter Online, Alexer Pere, the former wife of Nigerian singer Harrysong, has disclosed that she has decided to temporarily step aside from the custody of their two young children due to overwhelming emotional pressure.
The development was made known on Thursday through an emotional video shared on her Instagram story, where Alexer described the decision as one of the most difficult choices she has ever made. She explained that the move followed years of emotional strain after the collapse of her marriage.
Alexer revealed that since their separation, she has been the primary caregiver to the children, noting that they have lived with her, attended school from her residence, and only had limited contact with their father. She added that this arrangement has been in place for approximately two years.
She further alleged that her peace has been repeatedly disrupted by her former husband, accusing him of showing up at her residence unannounced and creating ongoing tension in her daily life. According to her, the persistent stress has taken a significant emotional toll, making it increasingly difficult for her to cope.
Alexer also referenced allegations contained in a petition reportedly filed by the singer, stating that she would address the matter at a later time. However, she emphasized that the emotional burden she is currently facing has become too heavy, compelling her to temporarily hand over custody of the children.
Clarifying her position, she stressed that stepping aside does not equate to abandoning her children. She expressed confidence that she would reunite with them once she regains emotional stability.
She raised concerns about the children’s welfare, claiming that their father is often absent and that they may be left in the care of domestic staff despite their young ages. Alexer also disclosed that she relocated from Asaba to Lagos after receiving threats that made her feel unsafe.
According to her, the decision was not born out of weakness but was necessary for her personal safety and mental well-being. She appealed for the protection of her children, noting that no mother willingly separates from her children but that she felt she had exhausted all other options.
She reassured the public that her bond with her children remains unbroken and that she would always return to be an active part of their lives.
It will be recalled that in January 2024, Harrysong publicly acknowledged difficulties in his marriage and appealed for privacy. Shortly afterward, Alexer made a social media post suggesting that the relationship had officially ended. The couple, who married in March 2021, share two children aged four and three.
