According to Ireporter Online, popular filmmaker Funke Akindele has urged fans to refrain from recording and sharing clips of her latest film, Behind The Scenes, warning that such actions could negatively impact the movie and those involved in its production.

Akindele made the appeal on her Instagram page on Saturday, December 13, 2025, after videos from cinema screenings, particularly from viewers in the United Kingdom, began circulating online. She emphasized that recording any portion of the film, even for a few seconds, constitutes piracy and undermines the considerable effort invested in the project.

The filmmaker expressed concern about the financial implications of unauthorized recordings, noting that she spent over ₦1 billion on the production and that piracy could threaten its success. She encouraged moviegoers to support the film by watching it in cinemas without filming or sharing scenes online.

Akindele further advised fans to take photographs only at cinema display points and to focus on sharing reviews rather than video clips, describing this as a crucial way to honor the time, effort, and resources dedicated to the film.
