According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has opened up about a deeply emotional moment in his life, revealing the last time he cried.

The “Many People” crooner shared during a podcast that the experience occurred a few months ago while he was walking down the street. The emotional moment was triggered when he watched his daughter, Deja, perform for the first time through a video call.

Adekunle Gold described the overwhelming mix of pride and longing he felt, realizing he could not be present to witness his daughter’s milestone in person. The singer reflected on the sacrifices required to balance a successful music career with family responsibilities.

He noted that this profound experience also inspired his song “My Love is the Same.” Adekunle Gold recounted, “Deja was performing and I wasn’t there, so they called me on video and showed me her first performance. I’m like, this is crazy. It’s the price you pay for building your career while caring for your family. That’s one of the reasons I wrote ‘My Love is the Same.’ I started to cry.”
