Award-winning choreographer Kaffy has urged women and girls to focus on personal growth rather than seeking external approval, in a message delivered as the world celebrated International Women’s Day.

Speaking at the Wema Bank International Women’s Day event, the 45-year-old Guinness World Record holder emphasized that true transformation should not come at the expense of one’s identity. She encouraged women to use their authentic selves to drive change in their lives and communities.

“Transformation is my watchword. Transform your environment, but do not sacrifice who you are. I’ve experienced this personally and had to rediscover myself. Let your authenticity guide your growth, and the world around you will follow. You don’t need validation from anyone,” Kaffy said.

Kaffy also encouraged young girls to embrace mentorship and forgiveness, emphasizing the importance of knowledge, emotional healing, and courage. “When opportunities arise to learn from women, accept them. Forgive your mother and those who may not have been able to support you—they are also doing their best to survive,” she added.
