Iwobi Reaches Elite Premier League Milestone Despite Fulham’s Defeat To Palace

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi reached a notable Premier League milestone despite Fulham’s 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

According to Ireporter Online, Iwobi made his 100th Premier League appearance for Fulham after being named in the starting line-up, becoming one of a select group of players to have reached the century mark with three different clubs.

The Nigeria international previously recorded 100 league appearances for Arsenal and 123 for Everton before reaching the landmark with Fulham.

Iwobi’s latest appearance places him alongside former Premier League players Gary Speed, Rory Delap, Gareth Barry and James Milner, who also achieved 100 or more league appearances for three different clubs.

The midfielder remained active in Fulham’s attacking play against Palace, taking responsibility for set pieces and making several forward runs into the visitors’ penalty area.

Fulham twice took the lead during an entertaining encounter but were ultimately unable to secure any points.

Joshua King opened the scoring for the hosts in the 11th minute when his effort from inside the box took a deflection before beating Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Palace appeared to have equalised through Tyrick Mitchell, but the goal was initially ruled out for offside following a VAR review. Mitchell eventually levelled the contest in the 35th minute.

Fulham restored their advantage shortly before half-time when Cesar Palacios reacted quickest to a rebound and fired the ball into the net in the 42nd minute.

Palace responded after the break, with Mitchell scoring his second goal of the afternoon in the 54th minute to make it 2-2.

The visitors completed their comeback in the 77th minute when Ben Chilwell followed up on a rebound inside the Fulham penalty area and calmly found the bottom-right corner.

Iwobi and fellow Nigerian international Calvin Bassey both featured for Fulham, but their efforts could not prevent the hosts from suffering another defeat.
