George, who arrived in the UK in 1986 at age 24, has a clean criminal record and suffered two strokes in 2019 that severely impacted his mobility and speech.

He has no immediate family in Nigeria and has experienced homelessness, often relying on friends for shelter. Despite multiple applications for leave to remain, all have been denied, with the latest rejection on May 7, 2024.

George’s past legal issues include a falsified passport stamp by previous solicitors, which he was unaware of. His current lawyer, Naga Kandiah, attributes George’s difficulties to poor legal representation and is appealing the latest denial.
