Just In: NNPP Kano State Chairman Removed From Office

According to reports, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State has expelled its state chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, citing alleged anti-party activities. The decision emerged from the second executive meeting of the party’s Gargari Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, held approximately two weeks after the party’s national convention. The resolution was endorsed by 27 executive members.

Presided over by Ward Chairman Shuaibu Hassan, with Ward Secretary Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa in attendance, the meeting cited multiple allegations against Dungurawa, including fostering divisions within the party, instigating internal crises, failing to pay party dues, and making derogatory remarks against Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Party executives described these actions as harmful to the unity, image, and progress of the NNPP in Kano State.

The ward leadership stressed that the expulsion was in line with the party’s constitution, emphasizing the importance of discipline, cohesion, and unity at all organizational levels. Copies of the resolution have reportedly been sent to the NNPP’s local government, state, and national headquarters for necessary follow-up, and the decision was also communicated to the party’s national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as well as Governor Yusuf.

Executives explained that the move aims to deter party members from misusing authority or disregarding party rules. They reiterated their loyalty to the NNPP’s national leadership under Kwankwaso and expressed continued support for Governor Yusuf, pledging to promote peace, unity, and the advancement of the party across all levels.
