According to Ireporter Online, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Mission in Nigeria, Keith Heffern, has expressed admiration for Nigerian Afrobeats stars Rema and Burna Boy, noting that he particularly enjoys watching their live performances on global stages.

Speaking during the U.S. 250th Independence Day celebration, Heffern highlighted the global rise of Afrobeats, describing it as a worldwide cultural force with Nigerian artists increasingly dominating international music charts, especially in the United States and beyond. He recalled watching Rema and Burna Boy perform at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, adding that Rema’s track “Goals” has become a symbolic anthem as the United States supports its national team in the Round of 32 fixture.
