Laycon Breaks Silence With “Everyday Anthem” — Rapper Returns After Two-Year Hiatus
According to reports gathered by Ireporter Online, Nigerian rapper and reality TV star Olamilekan Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon, has officially returned to the music scene with a brand-new single titled “Everyday Anthem,” marking his first release in two years.
The announcement, which has sparked excitement among fans and industry watchers, signifies a major comeback for the former Big Brother Naija winner, who had taken a break from music to engage in deep personal reflection and self-discovery.
In a heartfelt statement shared via his X handle, Laycon described the past few months as a period of profound transformation, explaining that he spent time questioning his purpose and re-evaluating his life choices. “The past few months for me have been about the ‘why’ — why I do what I do and why I’ve made the choices I’ve made. Trust me, the search for these answers took me into the craziest phase of my life,” he revealed.
The rapper hinted that his new single is a product of that introspective journey, offering listeners a taste of his evolution both as an artist and as a person. “I will share this experience with you. I promise you I will. But not before I show you the result of what that experience brings,” he wrote.
Describing “Everyday Anthem” as a reflection of his personal growth and a song with universal resonance, Laycon said it embodies a message of perseverance and purpose. He encouraged fans to embrace the present moment, teasing more projects to come. “My first single in two years is Everyday Anthem, and Everyday Anthem is a glimpse of what that experience gave me. There’s more to come, but for now, let’s not worry about that, let’s take it one day at a time… this is my Everyday Anthem,” he concluded.
Laycon’s return to music marks what observers describe as a renewed phase in his career. Since winning Big Brother Naija in 2020, the artist has built a strong fanbase with his lyrical prowess and the success of his debut album “Shall We Begin” released in 2021. “Everyday Anthem” is now seen as a reawakening of his artistic identity and a bold statement that Laycon is back to reclaim his place in the Nigerian music landscape.
