Leke Abejide Sparks Debate: ‘Jonathan Can’t Stop Tinubu’s 2027 Landslide’

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise, Leke Abejide, has confidently asserted that President Bola Tinubu would secure victory if former President Goodluck Jonathan decides to contest in the 2027 elections.

According to IREPORTER ONLINE, Abejide predicted that Tinubu would win more than 32 states should Jonathan enter the race.

The lawmaker, who represents Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, made the declaration during an interview on the Mic On podcast with Seun Okinbaloye.

There have been growing political permutations about Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race in 2027.

Jonathan, who served one term before losing to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, is being cautioned against a comeback.

According to IREPORTER ONLINE, Abejide believes that in such a contest, Tinubu might only lose in Anambra and Abia States, and possibly win even in Ebonyi.

“My prayer is that they should run on different platforms, and Asiwaju will win 32 states.

He may lose maybe Anambra, Abia, but he will win Ebonyi; in fact, he may surpass 32 states,” Abejide remarked.

On Tinubu’s popularity and the state of the nation’s infrastructure, Abejide shared his recent travel experiences. He recounted visiting Kano, driving to Kaduna without any security threats, and then taking the train to Abuja.

According to IREPORTER ONLINE, he stressed that the roads were in excellent condition and that people in the areas he visited appeared happy and supportive of the current administration.
