Listen More To God” — Ayodeji Emmanuel Sends Message To Nigerian Musicians

UK-based gospel singer Ayodeji Emmanuel has called on Nigerian gospel artists to seek divine guidance as a source of inspiration for their music. According to industry sources, Ayodeji, who has performed both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, described the greatest challenge for gospel musicians as truly hearing from God.

In a recent interview, he stated, “The biggest challenge musicians face in Nigeria, in my opinion, is hearing God. Many want to sing their own songs rather than the songs God places in their hearts. God provides melody and direction, and we must be patient to allow His inspiration to guide our work. Publicity is not the challenge; once you sing His songs, the world will hear you.”

Ayodeji also contrasted the gospel scene in Nigeria with that in the UK, noting that Christianity in the United Kingdom is often viewed more as a religion than a lifestyle. “Closeness to God is still a work in progress there, but God is moving fast, and the time is now,” he explained.

Since moving to the UK, Ayodeji has deepened his spiritual and creative pursuits, balancing his career as a singer with writing. He is the author of Move: It’s Time to Recover All and has spoken about how the idea for the book was inspired by a message from the Holy Spirit. He revealed, “Music is my first love. I began performing at the age of seven at CAC (Christ Apostolic Church). As I grew, it became clear that God was calling me to a deeper assignment, which led me to write a book when He nudged me through the Spirit.”

Ayodeji continues to develop his music career, having produced four singles, and plans to release a new album while managing his academic and literary pursuits.
