More Money, More Responsibility: Wike Challenges FCT Staff After Implementing ₦70,000 Minimum Wage

During an inspection of the Abuja Division Court of Appeal road construction on Tuesday, Wike emphasized the need for workers to redouble their efforts, stating:

“I expect workers to see this as a morale booster and be more committed to achieving the city’s development goals. The payment of the arrears and adoption of ₦70,000 are part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to improve worker welfare.”

The minister also clarified that with increased benefits comes greater responsibility:

“Workers must not adopt a lax attitude simply because of the wage increase. It means more work and accountability are expected from them.”
