Moses Omo-Ikirodah Mourns Victims Of Kaduna Fatal Train Attack, Says One Attack Too Many
A frontline aspirant for PDP house of reps member for Etsako Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Eng Moses Omo- Ikirodah has condemned in strongest terms the fatal attack by bandits/terrorists on a Kaduna-bound train conveying over 900 passengers on Monday.
According to reports from eyewitnesses, the train ran into explosives believed to be IEDs when all of a sudden bandits and terrorists started making their way towards the train with sporadic gunshots. It is believed the armed escorts on the train were overpowered by the terrorist.
So many people could not make it alive while a sizeable number of the passengers were abducted from the first-class coaches with some others reportedly shot at close range who probably resisted hostage-taking.
Currently, there is a blood shortage in the northwest Nigerian state as families of survivors scramble for blood donation online.
Moses who described the ugly incident as one too many called on the Federal Government to wake up to its responsibilities of protecting lives and property, saying security should be the core priority of the APC led Federal Government.
“It was an attack specifically designed to cause a massacre and it has indeed caused the massacre. This was a monstrous invasion of helpless Nigerians and we hope those responsible are caught and brought to justice as soon as possible.
Terrorism and banditry in all their forms and manifestations constitute one of the most serious threats to national peace and security. Deliberately targeting innocent citizens is especially abhorrent and must be condemned in its strongest terms.” the House of reps hopeful said.
Moses Omo-Ikirodah grieved with the families of the bereaved and urged them to take solace in God.
“My hearts ache for all those families who lost loved ones, including small children, or who have been wounded in this barbaric attack,”
Recall that there were earlier attacks by bandits on this same route, just last week it was reported that armed bandits attacked the Kaduna airport and disrupted activities at the airport.
