Music Stars Defend Mr. May D After Social Media Erupts Over Street Video

Nigerian singers Skales and DJ Neptune have come to the defense of Mr. May D after a video of him performing on the street went viral.

DJ Neptune voiced disappointment over the negative reactions to the video, highlighting that Mr. May D is simply pursuing his craft legally and deserves respect. He noted that struggling today does not preclude future success, writing, “Your fellow man is hustling legally for his daily bread with his God-given talent, and this is what you have to say? Just because he’s down today doesn’t mean he won’t thrive tomorrow.”

Skales also expressed strong support for Mr. May D, praising him for his dedication and honesty. He criticized those mocking the singer, suggesting that many of them lack genuine achievements and may even be scammers. Skales emphasized that many artists face challenges and that being down temporarily does not prevent future success.

He wrote, “God bless you, May D. You are doing honest work and harming no one—stay diligent. I am praying for you. Many artists go through hardships; just because someone is struggling today doesn’t mean they won’t rise again. Those mocking him often have no real accomplishments themselves yet feel entitled to ridicule someone working hard.”
