NDLEA Stands Firm: ₦10 Million Bribe Attempt Foiled As Drug Traffickers Nabbed In Lagos

The Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reportedly turned down a ₦10 million bribe offered to secure the release of Tsolaye Eburajolo, who was allegedly involved in a massive drug operation. and 508,400 bottles of codeine-based syrup, valued at over ₦16 billion.The drugs were intercepted in joint operations with Customs and other security agencies at Tincan Port, Lagos, and Port Harcourt’s Onne Port on October 22 and 23.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the attempted bribe has been added to the case evidence. Additional drugs, including Toradol Benzhexol tablets and 700 kg of methamphetamine, were recovered from containers at both ports. Other shipments included synthetic cannabis (“Loud”) and tramadol pills, smuggled into Lagos from Canada and hidden within shoes and hair attachments destined for international locations.

During a separate operation in Lagos, NDLEA agents discovered a hidden storage facility containing thousands of illicit pills, cleverly concealed underground at the home of Muhammad Abdullahi. Across multiple states, NDLEA made several additional arrests, including that of a major distributor in Abuja, and seized large quantities of cannabis hidden in vehicles and fresh produce.

NDLEA has underscored the importance of maintaining strict operational standards to prevent further drug trafficking and illicit activities.
