Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Doyin David, has candidly shared the psychological toll of participating in a Nigerian reality TV show.

In a recent podcast, Doyin disclosed that her time on BBNaija was mentally exhausting and left her feeling overly exposed. She criticized the way the show’s producers portrayed housemates, arguing that it often misrepresents contestants and creates false public perceptions.

She noted that the harshly judgmental nature of Nigerian society further intensified her discomfort, making the entire experience even more difficult. As a result, Doyin firmly stated that she would not consider joining any Nigerian reality show again—regardless of the financial incentive.

However, the reality TV star expressed some openness to appearing on an international show under more favorable conditions.

“When you go on a reality show, they present you however they choose. It’s not always a reflection of who you truly are, but that’s the image people are left with, and many of those impressions about me are simply not accurate,” Doyin said.

“My time on the show was mentally tough and overly revealing. I wouldn’t go through that again for any amount of money—unless it’s a show outside Nigeria. Nigerians are just too judgmental, and I have no intention of offering myself up for that kind of scrutiny again.”
