Nigerian Army Presence At Labour-Government Meeting Venue: Clarification Provided (Details)
The Nigerian Army Headquarters has provided clarification regarding the presence of soldiers at the venue of the meeting between the Federal Government and Organised Labour on Monday.
Earlier reports had indicated that soldiers surrounded the meeting venue, sparking concerns about potential intimidation tactics. However, in a statement on its official handle, the Army explained that the soldiers present are part of the security detail of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who is also attending the meeting.
The Army emphasized that the soldiers’ presence is in line with the NSA’s standard security protocol and is not intended to intimidate Organised Labour. It urged the public to disregard any false information suggesting otherwise.
This clarification comes amidst ongoing tensions surrounding the nationwide strike and underscores the importance of accurate reporting in sensitive situations.
