No Tension Between Quran And Bible’ — Oshiomhole Speaks After Meeting Tinubu

According to Ireporter Online, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has described the recent public commendation of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, by United States President Donald Trump as a significant diplomatic boost for Nigeria and a reflection of religious harmony under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Oshiomhole made the remarks on Friday while addressing State House correspondents after a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The former Edo State governor and prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress explained that the visit was primarily to extend New Year greetings to the President and to congratulate him over what he termed a glowing international recognition of the First Lady.

He noted that President Trump, during a public event in the United States, openly acknowledged Nigeria’s First Lady, describing her as a respectable, responsible woman and a Christian pastor, and invited her to stand for recognition before a global audience. According to Oshiomhole, the applause that followed the remarks underscored the positive image the moment projected for Nigeria on the international stage.

The senator stated that such recognition should be a source of national pride, stressing that it highlighted Nigeria in a favourable light globally. He added that the acknowledgment also carried symbolic significance, particularly in demonstrating peaceful religious coexistence in the country.

Oshiomhole explained that despite President Tinubu being a Muslim, the celebration of his Christian wife by an international leader reflected mutual respect between faiths, noting that it reinforced the message that there is no conflict between Islam and Christianity in Nigeria.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to remain united and optimistic, calling on citizens to focus on collectively addressing the nation’s challenges rather than undermining its progress, while expressing confidence that existing issues are being tackled.
