Obi Drops Bombshell: Ruling Government Orchestrating Opposition Party Chaos!”

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, has accused the current government of orchestrating the internal crises rocking both the LP and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Obi made the claim in a 7-minute, 16-second video shared on the party’s WhatsApp platform on Saturday, during an interaction with a group of young supporters. When asked by a concerned youth about his seemingly distant stance on the LP crisis, the former Anambra State governor responded, “What is happening in the Labour Party and the PDP is caused by the government. Quote me anywhere.”

He also reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, declaring that he will contest the 2027 presidential election under its banner.
“I will continue to run under the Labour Party. I’m a member of the Labour Party,” he stated.

Reflecting on past political experiences, Obi recounted:
“We had a similar issue in our party in the past when Yar’Adua was president. I approached him and he immediately summoned the INEC Chairman, Prof. Maurice Iwu, and said he didn’t want any problems in any political party. We were compelled to resolve it.

“But today, crises in political parties are widespread—and they are deliberately instigated by the system. These are the issues I intend to address if given the chance.”

He stressed the importance of having vibrant and functional political parties, emphasizing that a democracy cannot thrive without a strong opposition.

Obi further urged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to actively safeguard their votes, noting that while party agents may be deployed to protect election interests, the real power lies with the voters.

He encouraged the electorate not to lose hope, adding that meaningful change will always face resistance from those benefiting from the status quo.
