Okada Rider Bags Life Jail For Raping 21-Year-Old Woman

A 29-year-old okada rider named Jamiu Adegesin was given a life sentence by an Ogun State High Court in Abeokuta yesterday for raping a 21-year-old lady.

Adegesin was found guilty of forcibly engaging in sexual activity with the victim after entering a not guilty plea to a single count of rape.

A 29-year-old okada rider named Jamiu Adegesin was given a life sentence for raping a 21-year-old lady by an Ogun State High Court in Abeokuta yesterday.

Adegesin, who had entered a not guilty plea to a single count of rape, was found guilty of coercively engaging in sexual activity with the victim.

The FCC said that after Alia’s status as a Catholic priest was suspended, his supporters started abusing the Bishop in a statement released by its president, Bro. Augustine Aende.

Due to his engagement in partisan politics, the APC candidate was earlier this year suspended by Catholic Church authorities.

According to the group, the purported funded media attacks on the Bishop are “a very dangerous and unacceptable development.”

They claim that investigations showed people disparaging Bishop Anagbe online were ardent fans of Fr. Alia who had pictures of the APC candidate on their sites.

In passing judgment, the chief judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, declared that all of the prosecution’s evidence was credible and found the defendant guilty of all charges.

As a result, Dipeolu gave Adegesin a life sentence.
