Oluremi @65 Education Fund Rakes In ₦25.52bn For National Library Project

According to Ireporter Online, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced that the Oluremi @65 Education Fund, established to commemorate her 65th birthday, has successfully attracted total donations of ₦25.52 billion for the National Library project.

Mrs Tinubu disclosed that the donation window for the fund was officially closed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, noting that the next phase of the project would be handled under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Education. She described the outcome as a clear reflection of Nigerians’ collective belief in education, knowledge preservation and national development.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the First Lady expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians, family members, friends and well-wishers who supported the initiative, which was launched on September 21, 2025, to support the construction of a National Library.

She stated that the overwhelming response to the fund demonstrated unity and goodwill among Nigerians across different backgrounds, adding that the level of support had been both encouraging and inspiring.

Mrs Tinubu revealed that as of the closing date, total contributions stood at exactly ₦25,520,708,074.35, describing the sum as a significant investment in Nigeria’s educational and intellectual future. She added that any further support for the project would now be coordinated through the Federal Ministry of Education, under the oversight of the Minister.

Reaffirming her gratitude, the First Lady described the initiative as a worthy national cause and thanked donors for their trust and generosity. She also extended goodwill messages to Nigerians ahead of the New Year, wishing citizens and their families peace and prosperity in 2026.
