According to Ireporter Online, the Ondo State Government has commenced its 2026 promotion exercise for over 3,000 workers across the state public service.

The exercise was formally flagged off on Monday in Akure by the state Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, who disclosed that the affected workers had successfully completed their three-year waiting period and were duly shortlisted for promotion consideration. He added that the eligible officers had been assessed as deserving and were subsequently invited for interviews as part of the process.

Philip urged participants to maintain discipline, uphold ethical standards, and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the exercise to ensure its smooth and timely completion. He also expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for consistently approving the annual promotion exercise since assuming office, noting that the administration had ensured it was conducted without interruption.

He further stated that in some states across the federation, promotion exercises are either delayed for years or implemented without immediate financial benefits, but described the situation in Ondo as more favourable under the current leadership. According to him, promotion comes with greater responsibility, urging officers to rededicate themselves to improved service delivery.

She noted that the HoS had consistently shown commitment to workers’ welfare and appreciated the governor for prioritising the wellbeing of public servants in the state.
