One Man, One Vote: Edo Residents Unite Behind LP’s Akpata

Written By Oshiobugie John

In a groundbreaking development for the upcoming election in Edo State, residents, affectionately known as “Edolites,” are united in their support for Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate.

This unity cuts across all lines of tribe, religion, and sentiment, reflecting a collective belief in Akpata’s ability to bring transformative change through a people-centric government. His vision, actions, and impressive track record as a former NBA President and ex-commissioner have solidified his appeal.

Over the weekend, our reporters visited the northern region of Edo State, an area rich in untapped resources. Here, Akpata emerged as the most popular candidate.

Mrs. Sadoh, a businesswoman from Auchi in the Etsako West Local Government Area, shared her thoughts: “I’ve lived in Auchi for over three decades, and I’ve seen the ups and downs. What I admire about Olumide Akpata is that he doesn’t see people through the lens of tribe or religion. He’s all about Edo, and that’s what we need. I believe in his capacity to turn dreams into reality; it’s time for a leader who can connect with the pulse of the people.”

Mr. Omone, a local farmer, also expressed his support: “It’s not safe for farmers here due to encounters with terrorists and herders. I believe in Akpata’s vision for our state, especially his plans to enhance food security and production. I have one vote, and Akpata has it already.”

The support for Akpata signifies a pivotal moment for Edo State as residents look forward to a leader who prioritizes unity and progress.
