Onjeh Vows Alia’s Re-Election Will Not Be Hindered By Sponsored Attacks
According to Ireporter Online, a former senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South, Daniel Onjeh, has affirmed that no political smear campaign will hinder Governor Hyacinth Alia from securing re-election in 2027.
Onjeh made the statement in a press release issued in Makurdi on Tuesday, noting that repeated attacks against the Alia administration appear to be deliberate efforts by those frustrated that the governor has refused to serve their political interests.
“No campaign of calumny, smear, or sponsored attack will deter Governor Alia from securing re-election in 2027,” he said, adding that the governor has earned the trust, confidence, and goodwill of the people through his performance.
According to Onjeh, the attacks are intended to distract the administration from its focus on delivering tangible results while attempting to confuse the public with misinformation. He argued that the Alia administration has achieved visible, people-focused results that surpass those of previous governments since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999.
“Governor Alia’s administration has demonstrated discipline, clarity of purpose, and commitment to addressing the real needs of ordinary citizens rather than pandering to elite political expectations,” Onjeh said. “Benue is undergoing a quiet but deliberate transformation.”
He further noted that the governor avoids political theatrics and noise, emphasizing that the hallmark of the administration is results, not propaganda. Development, he said, is taking place through infrastructure projects and policy-driven interventions, even if they are not aggressively advertised.
