According to Ireporter Online, the General Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, has refuted claims linking him to statements about an alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

The clarification followed reports circulating online, alleging that Pastor Kumuyi accused the United States of attempting to seize Nigeria’s natural resources while denying that Christians were being persecuted in the country.

In an official statement released by the Deeper Life Bible Church on Sunday, the ministry dismissed the publication as entirely false, emphasizing that the revered cleric has not made any recent public comments or granted media interviews on political or national issues.

The church noted that Pastor Kumuyi’s focus has been solely on his ongoing Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) outreach, which recently hosted major crusades across Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Pakistan.

The statement further urged media practitioners to uphold journalistic integrity by verifying information before dissemination, while demanding that the false report be retracted immediately.

Part of the clarification read: “This is an official clarification: Any recent news reports or public statements being attributed to Pastor W.F. Kumuyi are false and inaccurate. Pastor Kumuyi is fully engaged with the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (TheGCKHQ), which has recently held events in Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Pakistan. He has not granted any recent press interviews or made public statements on other matters. We kindly request that all media outlets retract this false information and verify all future reports before publication.”
