The interesting aspect about the countdown to the 2023 presidential election is the obsession with one man, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Jagaban of Borgu. In every single discussion forum, the name Tinubu would always crop up.

It is either those in support of Tinubu’s rumoured aspiration or those against the aspiration. The funny aspect is that no other presidential aspirant is mentioned, they have almost narrowed the presidential ticket to Tinubu or not Tinubu, maybe their preferred choice candidate is not yet born, after all, there is the popular saying that the beautiful ones are not yet born.

For those against Tinubu’s aspiration who are majorly in the opposition parties, Tinubu remains a lost Shephard that has no army, they have twisted the narrative that if you hear them speak on the Jagaban you would think Tinubu is “taboo” when it comes to those in the corridors of power.

It is like the hypocrites that have taken themselves as the gatekeepers of heaven and thereafter judging their fellow humans on who and who is eligible to make heaven. Hence you hear the popular phrase “he no go make heaven”.

Imagine people not in the corridors of power telling you who is allowed into the sitting room of power. How can that be explainable to the layman?

Their parents or siblings are not working as security aides in the villa or as domestic aides, neither are their spouses political aides in the villa buy yet they will tell you categorically who and who is allowed and not allowed into the villa.

Some times when I hear people talk on Tinubu I just shake my head and say THIS ONE NA SEE FINISH O. How do they look at the Jagaban sef? A whole national leader of the greatest party in Africa and yet they belittle him when it comes to their petty discussions.

Anyway, this man who they claim that the Hausa would betray, Buhari would set him up and all sorts of dumb talks was at the villa yesterday having tête-à-tête with the president.

Tinubu’s crime seems to be his acceptance by all major stakeholders across the geo-political zones, it is quite painful that Tinubu’s acceptance across the board is a depressing narrative for the traducers of the Jagaban.

Look at the pictures and see the warm reception Buhari gave the APC national leader, it was like taking a tour or rather showing the incoming his way around the villa. These pictures would never go down well with Tinubu’s detractors and it is advisable you show them these pictures with caution.

No doubt Tinubu’s visit to the President would bring about sleepless nights to the derogators of the Jagaban.
