Police to Arraign Ghanaians, Nigerian Over Multi-Billion Naira Corporate Fraud
The Nigeria Police Force says it has concluded investigations into a large-scale corporate fraud allegedly masterminded by three Ghanaian nationals—Samuel Jonah, Kojo Ansah, and Victor Quainoo—alongside a Nigerian, Abu Arome.
Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed in a statement on Friday that the suspects would be prosecuted for a scheme to unlawfully take control of JonahCapital Nigeria Limited and its stakes in Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited and River Park Estate.
According to Adejobi, the suspects allegedly used forged documents, falsified signatures, and even posed as Nigerian citizens to manipulate records at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), enabling them to fraudulently allocate 99 million shares to themselves.
“The suspects are accused of engineering a sophisticated conspiracy to hijack JonahCapital Nigeria Limited and its interests. Our investigations established they illegally expanded the company’s share capital and transferred millions of shares to themselves using fake documents and forged signatures,” Adejobi said.
He further clarified that contrary to narratives circulating in certain media outlets, no police panel has cleared the suspects. Instead, he revealed they have repeatedly ignored summons, opted to launch smear campaigns against the Inspector-General of Police, and filed frivolous lawsuits aimed at derailing the probe.
Adejobi also confirmed that the Ghanaian High Commission had been officially notified of the matter in line with diplomatic protocols.
“The Police Force will now move forward with prosecuting the suspects for offences ranging from corporate fraud and forgery to criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and obstructing justice,” he said.
