Policeman Apologises For Threatening To K!ll Nigerians Filming Officers

Isokpehi, in a follow-up video posted on his TikTok page on Thursday, said his earlier remarks were made in anger and appealed for forgiveness from Nigerians and rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who had circulated the footage.

Speaking in Pidgin English, the officer expressed regret over the incident, insisting his comments were driven by frustration over prevailing challenges faced by security personnel. He maintained that citizens are permitted to film police officers but argued that it should not be done indiscriminately.

The officer, who claimed to be from Edo State and raised in a police barracks in Kaduna, also described his long service in the Mobile Police, saying he had dedicated over a decade to national duty. He further displayed what he said were gunshot wounds sustained during operations, referencing a past mission where he alleged he was among few survivors.

Isokpehi stressed that he never intended to harm civilians, clarifying that his earlier statement was a “verbal outburst” made in the heat of the moment. He repeatedly appealed for forgiveness, saying the backlash had escalated beyond his expectations.

The apology came less than 24 hours after the initial video, in which he was heard threatening to “clear everybody down,” including bystanders near anyone filming police activities, went viral on platforms including and Instagram.

He concluded by expressing hope that conditions for police officers in Nigeria would improve under the current leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, adding that officers remain committed to serving the country despite challenges.
