Portable Withdraws From Celebrity Boxing Match, Challenges Anthony Joshua For ₦100 Million

Nigerian street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has withdrawn from his anticipated celebrity boxing match against fellow entertainer Darlington Achakpo Okoye (aka Speed Darlington).

“I’m not fighting Speed Darlington again; I want Anthony Joshua with ₦100 million.”

Portable also alleged that Speed Darlington was using the proposed match as a publicity stunt to boost awareness for his upcoming event scheduled for April.

Reaffirming his dominance in the music industry, Portable claimed he holds more influence and stature than Speed Darlington, who was released from Kuje Correctional Centre in January after being held for allegedly defaming Afrobeat star Burna Boy.

The development comes shortly after Speed Darlington shared footage of himself preparing for the fight. In a tongue-in-cheek promotional video, he was seen purchasing a coffin before heading to the gym, a move many viewed as a provocation aimed at Portable.

The celebrity boxing match was initially set for April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos. However, with Portable’s withdrawal, the event’s future now hangs in the balance, leaving fans uncertain about whether the showdown will be rescheduled or cancelled altogether.
