President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating impact of recent floods that have ravaged communities and farmlands across Nigeria. According to data from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the floods have claimed lives, destroyed thousands of hectares of farmland, and displaced countless people across the country.
In a heartfelt message, President Tinubu extended his sympathies to all those affected by the floods, particularly the families mourning the loss of loved ones, the farmers whose livelihoods have been devastated, and the communities forced to abandon their homes. He acknowledged the severe toll these natural disasters have taken on the nation.
The President emphasized the urgent need for a united effort to tackle the environmental challenges facing Nigeria. He called for the development of a climate-resilient and adaptive society to better withstand such disasters in the future.
In his message, President Tinubu prayed for the souls of those who have lost their lives due to the floods. He also assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to providing the necessary support to flood victims. Through the relevant government agencies, the administration will continue to deliver aid to those in need and issue timely warnings to help mitigate the impact of future environmental disasters.
By highlighting the importance of climate action and community resilience, President Tinubu reaffirmed his dedication to safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of all Nigerians in the face of increasing environmental challenges.
