Oluremi Tinubu Leads High-Profile Delegation To Daura To Console Late Buhari’s Family

 

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday, July 19, led an influential delegation of governors’ wives, female lawmakers, and top government spouses to Daura, Katsina State, to commiserate with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to iReporter Online, the visit was aimed at extending heartfelt condolences to Buhari’s widow, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, and the larger Buhari family following the death of the revered statesman. The First Lady described the late president as an enduring symbol of integrity and discipline.

In a statement released after the condolence visit, Senator Tinubu said: “Today, I paid a condolence visit to Daura, Katsina State, to commiserate with the beloved widow and family of our dearly departed former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.”

She was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, the wife of the Deputy Senate President, Hajiya Laila Barau, alongside spouses of state governors, ministers, service chiefs, and several prominent women.

According to iReporter Online, the First Lady described Buhari as “not only a statesman but a symbol of integrity, discipline, and devotion to Nigeria.” She acknowledged his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Nigerian people and his distinguished service both as a military leader and a civilian president.

During the visit, Mrs. Tinubu also conveyed condolences on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the women of the nation to the grieving family. She offered prayers for the repose of Buhari’s soul, asking Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
