According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, popularly known as Fave, has raised concerns over what she described as restrictions preventing artistes from staging music events in Nigeria during the Ramadan period.

The Baby Riddim crooner revealed that her plans to host a concert on her birthday, March 13, have encountered setbacks because the proposed date coincides with the Islamic fasting season. She disclosed that she was informed by industry stakeholders that music shows are not permitted during Ramadan.

Fave expressed confusion over the development, noting that the planned event was intended to be her first major live performance in Nigeria since becoming an independent artiste. She explained that multiple promoters declined to take on the project, all citing Ramadan as the reason.

While emphasizing her respect for all religions, the singer questioned why the observance of Ramadan should hinder her ability to work or disrupt her personal plans. She added that having grown up in southern Nigeria, she only became acquainted with Ramadan practices later in life.

The singer further clarified that she is a Christian and strongly desires to celebrate her birthday with a live performance in her home country. She appealed to promoters who may be willing to work around the timing, stating her readiness to proceed with the show if given the opportunity.

Fave made these remarks while sharing her experience on social media, where she reiterated her respect for religious beliefs but maintained her hope of holding the concert despite the challenges.
