Rosy Meurer Responds To Husband Snatching Rumors, Unfollows Olakunle Churchill

Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has dismissed claims that she was involved in her husband Olakunle Churchill’s previous marriage to actress Tonto Dikeh. According to Ireporter Online, Meurer addressed the allegations in a series of videos shared on Instagram after social media users resurfaced rumors suggesting she was once close to Tonto before becoming romantically involved with Churchill.

In the videos, Meurer stated that she has never had a friendship or personal relationship with Tonto. She emphasized that they have never met, never exchanged phone numbers, and have no connection whatsoever. Meurer described the narrative that she was introduced to Churchill by Tonto and later became involved with him as false, asserting that she met her husband independently and had no involvement in his previous marriage.

She added that there was no betrayal, noting, “I was never my husband’s ex’s friend, not to talk of best friend. I have never met her, I have never seen her. She doesn’t have my number, I don’t have her number. She’s like 8-9-10 years older than I am.” She further said, “When I see comments like she’s your best friend, she introduced you to her husband and you snatched him, you are so wicked. Nothing like that happened. I met my husband separately, from that other life he had. The two don’t even go hand in hand.”

The clarification came shortly after reports emerged that Meurer had unfollowed her husband on Instagram, sparking speculation online. The development coincided with Churchill’s celebration of the 10th birthday of his son, King Andre, whom he shares with Tonto. Photos from the event, which showed Churchill and Tonto together with their son, drew public attention given their past marital dispute.

Meurer assured the public that she is happy in her marriage and praised the treatment she receives from her husband. She explained that she allowed Churchill to travel to Lagos to celebrate his son because he had not seen him for some time, adding that she was pleased the children could spend time with their father. At the time, Meurer was in Cancun, Mexico, celebrating her birthday.

Churchill and Tonto married in 2015, but their union ended in 2017 following a public dispute in which Tonto accused him of domestic violence and other misconduct—claims he denied. In 2022, Churchill sent Tonto a cease-and-desist letter over statements he described as harmful to his reputation and that of his wife. After his separation, Churchill married Rosy Meurer, and the couple welcomed a son in 2021.
