Ikiriko’s remarks came during an appreciation event organized by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, in Ochigba Town, Ahoada East, where he refuted allegations made by Victor Odili, ex-chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area. Odili had previously claimed in a viral video that Wike required council chairmen to sign off on letters authorizing the deductions.

Speaking at the event, Ikiriko dismissed these allegations as “a blatant lie” and urged political figures and their supporters to steer clear of unfounded claims. “Nothing of such happened,” he emphasized, stressing that baseless accusations only harm the political climate.

Ikiriko went on to praise Nwuche’s efforts to promote unity between members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the region. Reflecting on Wike’s visit on December 26, he called the warm reception “historic” and lauded Nwuche for his leadership, which transcends party lines.

Nwuche, for his part, commended the resilience of political leaders who had remained steadfast despite the challenges they faced. He assured them that their loyalty to Wike would not go unnoticed, urging them to stay committed to their cause.
