“Senior Advocate Of Nonsense” – Eedris Abdulkareem Disses Keyamo In New Song

Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has again lashed out at the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, in his newly released track, following the growing exposure of the private communications between the friends-turned-enemies.

The “Jaga Jaga” crooner, this time, subtly referred to Keyamo as Senior Advocate of Nonsense in the new track, titled “Jaga Jaga Oti Get e” while raising points on insecurity in the nation.

In the song, he notes Keyamo’s involvement in the government’s alleged terrorists’ propaganda.

He asks, “Is your government not a cabal wey dey pamper plenty terrorists?” alluding to the Buhari government’s cover-up of a Minister of Communication and the Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, whom the government refused to let go amidst apparent terrorism link allegations.

The song also touches on the multiple reports of kidnappings across the nation as Abdulkareem describes extremism as a “hallmark” of the government.

He states that many people, including him, had initially supported Buhari and have now regretted their decision.

He urged the people of Delta State to be vigilant as Keyamo’s actions are aimed at garnering support ahead of the 2023 political cycle in the state. The minister is said to be warming up for the state’s governorship.

SaharaReporters had, on April 24, reported how Keyamo, in a tweet, claimed Eedris had approached him in 2018 when he was named the Director of Strategic Communications for Buhari Campaign Organisation and wanted to join the group for a fee.

He claimed he told the artist that he had no budget for such.

The minister had added that the singer begged him for a loan of over a N3million to pay for his hotel bills in Abuja and also cater for his sick mother.

Keyamo also disclosed that the musician pleaded with him to introduce him to Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), and Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, to pursue his course of “getting into the system”.

The minister alleged that his refusal to honour Abdulkareem’s request led the singer to endorse Atiku Abubakar, the then-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2019 general elections and to become a critic of Buhari’s government after the polls.

Narrating his side of the event, Eedris, in a statement (with some pidgin) on Sunday, said, “When he [Keyamo] was in prison, I stood by him, I fought (Olusegun) Obasanjo on behalf of all the comrades in jail. I released Jagajaga. When my mother was dying, I reached out to a brother, or one I thought was a brother and a comrade. Could he have helped, yes, did he help, NO…such was the wickedness of his heart that he munched and kept personal details for three years…real Hallmark of a Blackmailer!

“In 2018, I still thought the man was a comrade. He thought he could effect change in the government he served. Then he joined the cabal, he became inner caucus and held the steering wheel spiralling Nigeria into doom. He joined to crush the revolution of the youths; he joined the cabal. The cabal which mowed down our youths at LEKKI TOLL GATE.

“With a vexed spirit, I went again to the studio for ‘Jagajaga Reloaded’ and the Blackmailer went to town. The cabal is awoken. The cabal is hit. The cabal is in pain. The cabal is failing. The cabal will fall.

“The Blackmailer said I recorded a song for Buhari. The said song is titled: ‘Obasanjo Write Buhari Letter…’

“Issues raised on Jagajaga Reloaded are facts. Nigeria never had it so bad. The Jagajaga has taken a gargantuan dimension. We must keep asking questions. We must ask the cabal questions.

“Festus Keyamo don join the cabal. He is in pains because his next ambition is to be governor of Delta State. Perhaps to localise grand looting, terrorism, murdering and raping of our citizens, kidnapping, which his cabal have romanticised and packaged as banditry, and sundry other mis-governance. This is why Jagajaga ti get e! Festus Keyamo na cabal.”

Princess Reacts To Baba Ijesha’s Bail

Nigerian comedienne, Princess Damilola Adekoya, has expressed optimism that she would emerge victorious in a sexual assault case she brought up against Olanrewaju James popularly known as Baba Ijesha.

She made this known via a post on Instagram, saying that she would win.

The post was made a few hours after news broke that Baba Ijesha has been granted bail.

The comedienne, who stated that she trusts God to grant her victory, accompanied by her post with hashtags on rape and child molestation.

Some of the hashtags read, “Goddoesnotsleep, Godloveschildren, saynotochilddefilement, saynotorape, say somethingifyouseesomething”.

“I will win not immediately but definitely,” she posted.

The PUNCH had reported that Baba Ijesha has been granted bail.

His lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana, confirmed this to The PUNCH on Monday.

“He has been granted bail. We are working to perfect the bail. He was granted bail on health grounds. He has not been released. He will be released after his bail conditions have been perfected,” he said.

Among the bail conditions listed by the lawyer for Baba Ijesha’s release are two reliable sureties – one of them must be a level-10 officer and the second, a direct blood relation, with N500,000 bail bond in like sum.

The PUNCH gathered Baba Ijesha was granted bail when magistrates went around police stations across the State, hearing cases of some suspects.

Ogunlana had in a letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police seeking Baba Ijesha’s bail on Friday that Baba Ijesha is looking abnormally weak and lean.

A copy of the letter obtained by our correspondent was dated, May 14, 2021, and titled ‘Re: Olanrewaju James Omiyinka application for immediate grant of bail’.

Part of the letter read, “We are aware that a piece of legal advice on our client’s matter has been issued about two weeks ago, disclosing prospective charges of bailable character.

“From all indications, the investigation has been concluded in his matter and it is inconceivable that the issuance of legal advice will now be a basis for the denial of bail as you have been widely reported in the press to have claimed.

“We submit that the continuous detention of Mr Olanrewaju James Omiyinka at your SCID Panti Yaba facility, for about thirty days now, in our respectful view, is in gross breach of his fundamental human rights as cognisable under the 1999 constitution the grand norm of the nation’s legal architecture.

“As of today when I met with Omiyinka in the company of his thespian colleague and ready surety, Mr Yomi Fabiyi, he appeared traumatised, emaciated, and walked with a limp in his right leg. May I assure you, sir, that Mr Omiyinka is not a flight risk and he is prepared to face trial.”

Nigerian comedian-cum-actress Princess had broken down in tears on social media while narrating how popular actor (Baba Ijesha) allegedly raped her 14-years old foster child.

In the viral video, the comedienne revealed how some parents had allowed their kids to stay with her after the crash of her marriage so she wouldn’t be lonely.

She said that the incidence happened while she was rendering help to Baba Ijesha, adding that it was during one of his visits that he molested one of the three girls living with her.

Princess said the defilement harmed the child as she began to sink academically and otherwise.

She said she wanted to catch him red-handed and had to call him for a meeting in her house where she set up a CCTV camera, and he was captured trying to molest the girl again.

In a live session with the veteran rapper, Bouqui, and monitored by Ripples Nigeria, the renowned thespian narrated how she was molested by a supposed relative at a tender age.

The 43-year-old mother of two shared her story while explaining why she had been calm about the rape issue.

“I hate it when people come and say this thing happened to you, why are you just talking about it now.

“Bouqui, it has happened to me, I don’t say this anywhere, I have never said this before, it has happened to me, it wasn’t rape, it was molestation, by someone who was supposed to be related to me.”

She continued;

“I was eight years old, I couldn’t talk about it for years because it traumatized me, nobody knew; I was dealing with it myself.

“Why couldn’t I talk, I knew what happened to others who had spoken up about it, they were disgraced; if you see the shame, even in school, once the word got out, it was about her being a prostitute even as young as we were, they would call you names, so man as seen you?”

In the latter part of the session, Damasus stated;

“Man has touched you?

“It’s not about what you’re going through, at the end of the day you spend years dealing with your trauma and we are not in a society that believes in “oh! go and see a therapist to talk about it for counseling,” said Damasus.
