SGF George Akume Reportedly Weds Former Wife Of The Ooni Of Ife (Photos)

The development was made public by the Akume Dajoh family through a statement shared on social media, where they warmly welcomed Queen Zaynab into their family and Benue State, describing the union as a source of joy and celebration. Photographs circulating online captured moments of jubilation, with family members and well-wishers celebrating the newest addition to the Dajoh household.

In the statement, the family expressed appreciation to supporters of the SGF for their continued loyalty and encouragement, urging them to remain steadfast in their support as he begins this new phase of his personal life. They also extended goodwill messages for the festive season and the coming year, while formally welcoming Queen Zaynab to Benue State, Mbakor, and the Dajoh family.

Queen Zaynab, formerly known as Zaynab Otiti Obanor, was previously married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. Their marriage, which began with traditional rites in Benin City in March 2016 and later featured a reception at the Royal Court of Ife, reportedly ended in 2017 after about 17 months.

Following the dissolution of that union, Queen Zaynab continued her humanitarian engagements and later relocated to Doha, Qatar. Reports also indicate that she subsequently married an Arab prince and welcomed a daughter in 2022, before her reported marriage to Senator Akume.
