According to Ireporter Online, the Nigerian entertainment community has been thrown into mourning following reports that Nollywood actor and digital content creator, Odira Nwobu, has passed away. News of the incident surfaced on Monday after fellow creator and blogger, Awuzie Frankline, shared a clip showing the actor lying motionless, a post that quickly drew widespread attention across social media.

Frankline did not provide specific details about what led to the tragedy, but his comments suggested that Nwobu allegedly died only hours after a night out in South Africa over the weekend. Expressing deep grief in several Facebook posts, Frankline lamented the loss, writing, “God why! ODIRA why leave us… The call I received now was not a good one. #Odiegwu.”

In another message, he reflected on the actor’s vibrancy and recent activities, noting that Nwobu had celebrated a thanksgiving service just months earlier and seemed full of life during his trip to South Africa. “How can you return from South Africa lifeless? Honestly, I am drowning in tears. Death is rude. I am heartbroken,” he wrote.

Comedian Evan Okoro also reacted with disbelief, sharing a photo of the actor alongside the message: “How? No, I can’t believe this. Nooooo.”

Earlier this year, Nwobu made headlines after surviving a serious car accident, with a viral video showing bystanders assisting victims at the scene.
