The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has dismissed speculations that Vice President Kashim Shettima might be replaced as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 elections.

According to Ireporter Online, Morka made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, noting that Tinubu’s political record, including his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, makes any suggestion of Shettima’s replacement highly speculative.

Morka emphasized that the party’s endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term inherently extends to the Vice President. He stated, “The position of Vice President, when the time comes, is liable to conversations at the party level, you know, for decisions as to who becomes Vice President. So when they endorse the President, in my understanding, that constitutes an endorsement of the serving Vice President as well, whether or not his name is listed, because the President is the one who is on the ballot.”

He further explained that it would be premature to assume changes to the joint ticket, highlighting that President Tinubu, in his previous political positions, has had opportunities to change his deputies. “It’s not easy to just assume that and say that because it’s a joint ticket… But that’s exactly why this is all very speculative,” Morka added.
