Tears Flow As Popular Content Creator Sunshine Is Laid To Rest

Popular content creator Iniobong Esther Louis, widely known as Sunshine, has been laid to rest in Lagos, following her death earlier this month. Sunshine, 34, reportedly passed away on January 9, 2026, due to complications arising from fibroid surgery that began in December 2025.

According to close friend Chidera Madu, Sunshine, who was originally from Nnung Udoe Itak in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was first admitted to Orchid General Hospital. However, amid a nationwide doctors’ strike, she received only pain relief without a thorough diagnosis, prompting a transfer to another facility on January 2 for proper medical care.

In the wake of her passing, friends and family appealed to the public for financial support to ensure a dignified burial.

The burial rites commenced at Lagos Island General Hospital in Marina on Wednesday, after which Sunshine’s remains were interred at Atan Cemetery in Yaba. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to pay their final respects to the late content creator.
