11-kilometer bridge on Thursday, Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, dismissed the claims as unfounded and the work of mischief-makers. He urged the public to ignore the false reports circulating online.
Kesha, speaking to the press, emphasized that the bridge’s integrity is intact, citing a thorough inspection where officials drove the full length of the bridge and found no abnormalities.
“We drove across the entire bridge, both ways, and found nothing wrong,” Kesha confirmed, addressing the media directly. “There is absolutely no cause for alarm. The rumor is purely fabricated by those looking to stir unnecessary panic.”
Further assuring the public, Kesha pointed out that both government officials and residents use the bridge every day without issue, affirming that its structural safety is unquestionable.
“We want to make it clear to all Lagosians and Nigerians that the Third Mainland Bridge is safe, and its integrity has never been in doubt,” Kesha added. “We continue to use the bridge daily, and so do many others without any problems.”
The Federal Government’s reassurances aim to put an end to the unwarranted concerns, with experts urging citizens to disregard misleading reports and trust in the official assessments.
