Tinubu Extends Open Invitation to Wike to Join APC

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his willingness to welcome the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, into the All Progressives Congress (APC), should he choose to join the ruling party.

Speaking on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16 connecting to Arterial Road N20 and other infrastructure projects in Abuja’s Katampe District, the President applauded Wike for his efforts despite not currently being a member of the APC.

“We have someone like Nyesom Wike. He’s not yet one of us, but the day he makes that decision to join the progressives, we will welcome him wholeheartedly,” Tinubu remarked, playfully referencing the popular phrase, “As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us.”

The President used the occasion to highlight his administration’s commitment to national development, stating that the commissioned roads were a visible part of the Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasized that infrastructure development is vital to Nigeria’s economic progress and social integration.

“Infrastructure is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. It drives competitiveness, connects communities, and boosts industrialization. Without good roads, no meaningful development can thrive,” Tinubu stated.

He noted that since taking office in May 2023, his administration has been focused on reform and regeneration, investing significantly in transport, renewable energy, healthcare, education, and digital infrastructure.

The commissioning ceremony also served as a platform for the President to underline the importance of collaboration across party lines in achieving tangible development for the nation.
