Tinubu Govt Shakes Up Aviation Agencies, Redeploys Top Officials [Full List]

The Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a sweeping redeployment of senior officials across major aviation agencies as part of efforts to enhance coordination, accountability and operational efficiency within the sector.

According to Ireporter Online, the restructuring, endorsed by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, affects key directorates within the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

Details of the changes were outlined in an official circular dated February 9, 2026, and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata, with the approval of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo. The redeployments take immediate effect.

The exercise spans critical departments including public affairs, consumer protection, finance and accounts, corporate services, human resources, administration, and special duties. Authorities indicated that the move forms part of ongoing institutional reforms designed to strengthen aviation safety oversight, boost service delivery, and promote greater inter-agency collaboration.

As part of the changes, Funke Adebayo Arowojobe has been moved from NiMet, where she served as Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, to assume the same position at the NSIB. Within NiMet, Dr. Nasiru Sani has been reassigned to head Corporate Services.

In another cross-deployment, Airohiuodion Henry Omonzogie transfers from NiMet to the NSIB as Director of Corporate Services, while Baro Henry Minabawarre moves from the NSIB to NiMet to serve as Director of Human Resource and Administration. Public communication leadership also saw adjustments, with Bimbo Olawunmi Oladeji redeployed from the NSIB to NiMet.

Financial management roles were equally affected. Muonemeh Ndubusi Lotenna has been transferred from NAMA to the NSIB as Director of Finance and Accounts, while Dr. Mrs. Okundaye Oke Itohan Folake moves from the NSIB to NAMA in a corresponding capacity.

At the NCAA, the Director of Special Duties, Horatius Egua, was relieved of his position and replaced by Mrs. Augustina Erah, PhD.

The ministry directed all affected officials to conclude their handover processes promptly to avoid any operational disruptions. Officials described the redeployment as a routine administrative measure aimed at reinforcing institutional capacity, strengthening regulatory oversight, and advancing service delivery standards across Nigeria’s aviation industry.
