According to Ireporter Online, former Senate President Ahmed Lawan has dismissed claims suggesting that President Bola Tinubu is difficult to access, insisting that the nation’s leader remains open and available to Nigerians. Lawan made the clarification on Thursday while addressing journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after a private meeting with Tinubu.

He explained that his visit reaffirmed the president’s openness, noting that he was warmly received during the engagement. Lawan emphasized that anyone with genuine concerns or contributions to national development should feel free to approach the president directly rather than criticise him from a distance.

Speaking on his experience, Lawan said he was particularly moved by the president’s reception, adding that being one of Tinubu’s only visitors for the day underscored how accessible the office remains to citizens who seek meaningful dialogue.

He stressed that it is unfair for individuals to claim otherwise when opportunities exist to engage constructively with the presidency.

Lawan also addressed broader national issues, calling for greater accountability in the implementation of capital projects and urging sustained respect for the armed forces. He further highlighted the need for improved synergy between the executive and the legislature as deliberations on the 2026 budget continue.

He noted that lawmakers are committed to ensuring that both constituency and national projects are fully executed across the country, adding that their efforts are driven by a patriotic desire to ensure equitable development in all regions.
