According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his condolences to traders and residents of Kano State following a fire outbreak at Singer Market over the weekend.

In a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the incident as “painful and worrying,” noting that it occurred shortly after a similar fire devastated parts of the same market less than two weeks ago.

The fire, which began on Saturday evening and extended into the early hours of Sunday, destroyed numerous goods and disrupted the activities of many food sellers. Several shops were damaged as the flames spread through the busy commercial hub, leaving traders grappling with significant losses.

President Tinubu reached out to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to assess the extent of the damage. Expressing concern over the repeated outbreaks, the President directed that a thorough investigation be conducted to determine the cause of the fires and prevent future occurrences.

The latest blaze comes on the heels of a previous fire in early February, which also destroyed multiple stores and resulted in millions of naira in losses for market traders.
