According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Tinubu has issued new security directives in response to escalating cases of kidnappings and armed attacks in parts of Kwara, Kebbi and Niger states. The President’s directive was disclosed on Tuesday through a statement shared on by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare.

The Presidency confirmed that Tinubu has instructed the Nigerian Air Force to intensify aerial surveillance across the densest sections of Kwara’s forests, which intelligence reports suggest have become strongholds for criminal groups. The security agencies are expected to maintain round-the-clock monitoring and coordinate closely with ground troops already deployed in the affected zones.

Dare noted that the expanded security operation also extends to forest areas linking Kebbi and Niger states, where some kidnapped individuals are still awaiting rescue. He urged residents living in vulnerable communities to assist security forces by promptly reporting unusual activities or suspicious movements.

The renewed federal action follows the recent abduction and rescue of 38 worshippers in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, as well as the kidnapping of at least 10 people on Monday night in the nearby Isapa community.
